Established in 1990, Banco has reached a milestone in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance sector. With its innovative and user-friendly publications, Banco has conquered the position as "Most Trusted BFSI Publication". However, the journey from establishment to today's glory is certainly not just an overnight long. Visionary planning, proactive thought process and effective leadership qualities of Mr. Avinash Shintre – Gundale, the Editor-in-Chief of Banco, has made Banco a single-window service provider for co-operative credit societies, private banking & insurance companies.
1990
The Beginning
Start of the journey
Interestingly, the seed sprouted in the soil, not related to the finance sector, but rather related to Computer Design (DTP), Computer Training and IT Services! It was the time when the Information Technology sector was still gaining momentum, but its impact on several fields was quite visible. So, far-sighting the overwhelming use of IT in several different sectors, Mr. Avinash Shintre – Gundale started a firm called "AVIS COMPRINT", the very first DTP firm in Kolhapur, catering to the needs of all kinds of digital design and printing from a large spectrum of industries. The need for skilled employees in this business triggered Mr. Avinash to expand the scope of operations of his business over Computer Training and by the year 1996, Avis Computer Centre had 15 training institutes successfully planted in Kolhapur and Sindhudurg Districts, benefiting over 10,000 students.
Birth of "Banco"
In order to keep the government services agile and transparent, Government keeps making changes in the structure and/or operations of the government procedures. Government employees and the employees working in all those sectors which receive an impact of proposed changes in official GRs pronounced the need of some sort of publication, which will comprise the regulatory changes in simple to understand language whilst the information should be structured such that employee can easily refer to it as and when required in daily work routine without wasting time. Mr. Avinash heard the voice of many cooperatives and started "Banco" under "Avies Publications". Banco came into existence as a Reference Diary — an Information Booklet consisting of all the related information in simple-to-understand language and creatively indexed for easy access.

No wonder Banco was well received across different layers of the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance sectors. The success of Banco gave birth to the "Patsanstha Reference Book" for the credit Society, which was also an executive diary plus a knowledge-base booklet like its predecessor. Both these publications were Annual, which was far from the rapid frequency of changes and technology improvements in the Digital Banking, Banking segment. Mr. Avinash, a man who doesn't know the word "impossible", came up with yet another innovative publication, Banco Magazine, especially to showcase the new technology trends and policy changes in the banking sector.
From Print to Training, Publication, Events & More
Merely providing information to the employees was not sufficient. Therefore, carrying the same page from his own old book, Mr. Avinash decided to start Training Banking Employees to help them meet the challenges to keep pace with the fast-changing financial sector. Due to its contemporary content with a focus on the digitization sector and innovations in Information & Technology field and friendly, innovative skill development training model, Banco Training has gained enormous respect in the Co-operative Banking and Digital Banking sector. Banco has 19+ events to credit with bankers reaping benefits through the top-notch Banco Training sessions. Banco Puraskar started in 2011, recognizes and rewards the best-performing banks with a heartfelt feeling of gratitude and respect towards the devotion and dedication of these excellent performers in the BFSI segment.
